The Italian artist’s work has been exhibited in Rome and Dubai

Integrating the celebration of the '2011/2012 Italy-Brazil Moment', the 'Maximum Silence' installation has come to Praça Paris square, in the quarter of Glória, after being exhibited in Rome and Madrid. The multicolored effect of the work, produced by Italian artist Giancarlo Neri, is achieved by 9 thousand lamp bulbs that change in color and intensity, varying in synchronicity every five minutes. The work is going to be at the square until 05 February.

Held for the first time in 2007 at the Circus Maximus, in Rome, where it attracted more than 35 thousand people for its opening, the work was exhibited during the following year at Esplanada del Rey in Madrid. In 2009, the artist held a similar installation in Dubai. “Each location has a different situation. The work interacts directly with the place”, says Neri. “There is nothing computerized. I use easy materials, close to kitsch”, says the artists, that bought the lamp bulbs
in Shanghai, China.
